ONE YEAR OFFICE,TANGGAMUS LEADERS GO VIRAL AFTER TURNING CELEBRATION INTO PURE SOCIAL ACTION
Kota Agung, February 20, 2026 — What was supposed to be a simple anniversary of leadership unexpectedly exploded across local platforms after Bupati Hi Saleh Asnawi and Deputy Agus Suranto used the moment not for ceremony, but for direct social impact.
Held at the official residence during the early days of Ramadan 1447 H, the gathering brought together government institutions, religious organizations, women’s groups, and residents. Majlis Taklim Al Mahmudah from Tanggamus also joined to offer prayers and support.
The moment that went viral happened fast: Bupati Hi Saleh Asnawi personally handed out wheelchairs, walking sticks, and food packages to elderly and low-income residents. No script, no grand setup—just immediate action. The crowd responded with applause and visible emotion.
In his remarks, the Bupati emphasized that public trust is a responsibility he must answer for both “in this world and the hereafter.” He pushed the importance of maximizing local natural resources, stressing that Tanggamus can’t depend forever on central government funds.
“We cannot rely solely on the national government. We must dig into the potential we already have,” he said, drawing nods from the audience.
What was meant as a modest thanksgiving event has now been interpreted as a statement of leadership style: one year in office, and the pair is choosing hands-on work over grand ceremonies. Local forums and social media quickly picked it up, calling the moment “refreshingly direct” and “zero unnecessary showmanship.”
